Federal Bureau of Prisons is Hiring a Correctional Officer Near Glenville, WV

We are looking for Correctional Officers who can work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The right candidate will be able to make quick decisions in an unpredictable environment and will possess good coordination, observation and communication skills. The Correctional Officer is responsible for supervising inmates and enforcing regulations while working in a high-stress environment, so the ideal candidate will have the ability to work alone with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise inmates.
  • Ensure the safety of inmates, staff, and the public.
  • Perform security routines and administrative tasks to maintain the facility.
  • Handle crisis situations and detainments.
  • Be able to respond to any situation at any time; complete daily paperwork; and remain alert at all times.
  • Meet with individuals to discuss their charges and their rights while in custody.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $48,809.00 - $74,197.00 per year
